In recent weeks, you may have noticed an upsurge in newspaper articles about the under- representation of women in economics; e.g. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-41571333.
It was a coincidence that, at the same time, I was contacted via the website by a colleague in Australia, regarding a research project into this very issue. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) is concerned about the declining number of women entering university to study economics. Consequently, the RBA is funding some research into economics pedagogy and colleagues from Lumen Christi Catholic College (http://www.lumen.nsw.edu.au/) will be travelling to the UK in January to undertake this research. This is a fascinating study and I am excited to have been asked to participate. I look forward to involving my students too!
