Government Economic Service (GES)

The Economics Society welcomed Mrs Barbara Baffot-Bonnie from the Department for Transport to discuss careers for economists in the Home Civil Service.  Barbara’s particular area of interest lies in environmental economics and she talked about how rewarding it is to see her analyses of infrastructure projects being discussed by Boris Johnson and his Cabinet Ministers.  The GES degree level apprenticeship provides a salaried route into the civil service without the usual accumulation of student debt.  Surely a no-brainer!  Further information : https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/the-government-economic-service-degree-level-apprenticeship
