G Conomics YouTube content comprises of over 400 videos relating to economic theory, exam technique, and study skills. G Conomics provides video feedback to his students, in addition to the traditional marking of exercise books.
G Conomics encourages wider reading around the subject via his literature reviews which have developed into talking books!
Many of G Conomics’ former economics students have gone on to have stellar careers in industry, using their economics knowledge on a daily basis (some of whom appear on the where are they now page), and G Conomics has been privileged to share their experiences online.
Gavin Clarke – Founder
Educated at The Royal Belfast Academical Institution, G Conomics read Economics before completing his Post Graduate Certificate in Education at The Queen’s University, Belfast.
Teaching since 1998, G Conomics is Head of Economics at Emmanuel College, Gateshead. G Conomics has a proven track record of outstanding examination results. Headline figures for the summer 2017 examination series include 93% of GCSE and A Level students achieving A* – B grades.
In recent years, G Conomics’ collaboration with OCR has developed to the stage where OCR now recommends G Conomics as a teaching resource.
In addition, G Conomics’ economics curriculum is rich in co-curricular activities which include students’ participation in national economics competitions, guest speakers addressing The Economics Society, study visits, university links (particularly The Newcastle Business School), industry links (particularly with Virgin Money and Brewin Dolphin – both of whom sponsor an award at the school’s presentation evening), regional resource links (particularly The North East Institute of Business Ethics), and alumni reunions, generally hosted with G Conomics’ learned colleague, Mr David Ridley.
